2016 Montana Excellence in Masonry Awards

Call for Entries

Entries are now being accepted for the 2016 Montana Excellence In Masonry Design Awards. The rules for the competition are noted below. Outstanding submissions will be selected by a jury of architect peers. The awards program will be held in conjunction with the AIA Montana Fall Meeting on Wednesday, September 28 at Fairmont Hot Springs, Montana.

ELIGIBILITY

1. Current members of AIA Montana may enter projects.

2. Projects must be located in Montana.

3. Projects must have been completed between 2011 to 2015 to be eligible.

4. Projects must have been designed by a current AIA Montana architect.

5. Projects that won awards at the 2012 Montana Masonry Awards are not eligible.

REGISTRATION

1. Complete the enclosed registration form and mail, along with entry fee, to the Masonry Industry Promotion Group to receive a Submissions Binder.

2. Registration forms and entry fees must be received no later than May 1, 2016.

3. Entry Fee – $75.00 for each entry.

4. Completed Submission Binders must be received by the Masonry Industry Promotion Group no later than July 1, 2016.

SUBMISSION

1. Only projects completed between 2011 and 2015 will be accepted.

2. Masonry construction (brick, block, or stone) must be a dominant and outstanding feature of the building.

3. Eight to ten high quality color digital image files (sized at 8×10, 300 dpi, jpg or tif format) must accompany each Submission Binder for judging and awards presentation purposes.

4. Submit two (2) professional 8 x 10 color photos (signature shots) that best show off the masonry construction.

5. Each entry must also include a written description of the project (250-500 words) with an emphasis on how and why masonry was used to meet the project requirements.

6. All photography submitted must include a signed release form. Entrants must clear rights to photos for incorporation in the Masonry Industry Promotion Group and national masonry publications.

7. Each entry will be judged based upon how it has met individual project requirements and the creative use of masonry construction.
