[A discussion in cyberspace about Architecture.] Jeff coined a phrase in the early 80's when working in Browning. The phrase, "It's hard to practice Architeture in a place where there is none." Well, since that time we have found that this is not quite true. What we have found, in my opinion, is that Montana Architecture is found in many places and many forms, but that since the space/place, is so large, that the Architecture is scattered around, and therefor more difficult to absorb. At the close of the 1900's, we should simply reflect that we have all accomplished some goals. Maybe the client dictated them to us and we are not so proud. Maybe we were able to inject our flair, or were given the go ahead to do our job in our own style, with our particular talents shining like the full mooon. But whatever, we did it and we are on with next century. This century, we are all going to say that we are practicing architecture in a place were there is a lot. Happy New Year to all. Bill Grant |
